I am super happy to announce that I finished Garland on and my Two at a Time Socks on July 1st! They complete my June Resolutions projects, which if you remember were:
- Complete one sleeve on Garland
- Cast on Icon Dress
- Complete Two at a Time Socks
I did cast on the Icon Dress, and it is progressing nicely.
Garland
I started Garland as part of a Monthly Resolutions initiative, back in January! The plan was for each of us to make a jumper, and it took me a mere six months – three months longer than I expected.
I love the pattern and the concept…but I’m not 1000% happy with the fit. This is because I am rather busty – the short and wide design of Garland doesn’t really fit my figure, so it does some bulging when I wear it.
In any case, I’m super pleased to have finished it, it’s wonderfully warm and comfortable, and I am really excited whenever I wear it! We are going through a hot patch in London at the moment – I think it will be much more helpful in August!
Two at a Time Socks
These were not as quick a project as I expected them to be, but this has a lot to do with the fact that I had a bit of a non-knitting blip this month. Pattern here. Nevertheless, I finished them and am super pleased with the fit! I love doing toe-up socks as it means I was able to choose exactly what length I wanted.
Again, it’s a bit warm for these socks, but I will look forward to wearing them in the cooler weather.
Just a note on the yarn, which is Strømpegarn Tiger yarn – it was very cheap and it is a bit hard as a result – not soft and squishy. They’ll make good wearable socks, but the comfort is a bit on the lower side. I do have enough leftover to make another project, and the two balls only cost £2, so I have absolutely no worries about this at all!
That’s it from me – I’m off to stare at my baby hamsters!
Much love,
Corrie xx
I like the color of the socks…..too bad they are not very cushy……congratulations on finishing the sweater….it does look warm…
Nice job on the socks and the sweater.
I have to say that I’m a traditionalist when it comes to sweaters…. I like them long… long body, long sleeves… which is why I’ve only knit one so far. ;-)
Look at you go! Love the sweater. The length is super sassy and I love how it hangs. oooooh, those socks are beautiful.
