It’s the fourth Annual Knit and Crochet Blog Week, hosted by Eskimimi Knits, and today I’ve assigned myself to the House of Monkey! I know it doesn’t make much sense if you read that as a one-off sentence…I’ve just arrived back in Devon and am feeling very tired and finding it hard to formulate English.
I’m pleased to be back. Archie the Bunny greeted me enthusiastically – he has burrowed through to the next door neighbours garden (shhh don’t tell them) and was very happy to receive cuddles. I think it’s the first time I’ve ever experienced him so human-loving. He was saying hello to Jet as he ate seedlings under the bird table. Isn’t he cute?
House of Monkey
So today for Blog Week, Mimi has invited everyone to delegate themselves to a House – the four houses are the Houses of Bee, Manatee, Monkey and Peacock. I couldn’t really decide between Bee and Monkey, but did eventually go for Monkey. The description for the House of Monkey is:
Intelligent and with a fun loving side, Monkeys like to be challenged with every project presenting them with something new and interesting.
I dispute the ‘intelligent’ bit…hehe, but I did have to consider the fact that I am determined to learn something new with most projects. My first ever project was a pair of gloves – talk about ambitious!
After that was the Harry Potter wall-hanging, my first illusion knit – forget a small dish-cloth, I went for the three-months to make monster! My first proper hat was a beard hat rather than a standard one, and let’s not forget that for this months Resolutions I’m aiming to knit three different pairs of socks using patterns I haven’t made before – as if three pairs of easy socks wasn’t enough!
So, what house do you think you would be in?
While I’m talking about Eskimimi Makes, although I’ve followed her blog for a while I’ve only just explored the website – and discovered tonight that she wrote “The Knitting Pocket Bible“, which is one of my absolute favourite books in the entire world! Check it out if you haven’t already.
Much love,
Corrie xx
