I’m on my way to Manchester with MdB at the moment, attending the Creative Stitches and Hobbycrafts Show. I won the tickets from Let’s Knit on Tuesday, and am very excited!
I thought I would talk about some of the projects I intend to do in the coming weeks. This is largely because I intend to purchase the supplies at the show!
Penguin Hat
I have got this wonderful book called Animal Hats by Rachel Henderson, and rediscovered it the other day when I was cataloging my books. After I flick through, I decided I MUST make this penguin hat.
I’m out as a penguin lover, so it should come as no surprise as to why I want to make this! It requires an Aran yarn – it’s meant to be in Rowan Creative Worsted but if I find a good alternative I will rather go for it as I find the Rowan yarn a bit scratchy.
Man Scarf
I have no photos for you with this, but JS wants a new scarf, and I intend to provide. So, I will pick up some yarn today that is preferably MAN coloured and also super-super-bulky so it knits up quickly!
Arm-Warmers
I wanted to make myself something out of the remaining “Yarnfair Stripes” from the iPad case I made a few weeks ago. I chose this book, which I also rediscovered, and a gorgeous pattern which only requires half the amount of yarn that I have. I might make it twice I I really like it.
I want to pick up a set of bamboo DPNs and the show today will be the perfect chance to do so!
What are you up to today? Did anyone else go to the show? Blog-post to follow! I’m just on the bus there (writing this on my phone so please excuse any formatting problems). Promise to keep you updated!
Much love,
Corrie xx
Oh I really wanted to visit that show but had a poorly girl and no transport. Hope you got your supplies. Coincidentally my 7 year old asked me to make him a penguin hat just today……
